Our newest litter of four boys and seven girls was born today! Sydney did a great job, delivering all eleven in about four and a half hours. All pups look great and are nursing well.

The puppies are now a week and a half old and their eyes are beginning to open. It is an exciting day for our family when the pups start to see the world. They are growing quickly and becoming more mobile. It is fascinating to see them take turns nursing. Sydney usually has four or five pups resting up by her face while the rest eat. As they fill up with milk, they fall asleep, giving the others time to feed.

The puppies are 2 weeks old today. It seems like just yesterday that we were anxiously expecting the arrival of puppies. When ever we have a dog that is getting close to her due date I just don't sleep well! I sleep with the nursery monitor on because I feel I need to be there for the big event. I am sure she could deliver fine without me but there is something amazing at witnessing the birth of the puppies. The puppies are definitely seeing the world, their eyes are open! They are becoming a bit more mobile, crawling a bit in the whelping box. Enjoy the photos!

The puppies are growing so quickly! I can't believe how much more mobile they are becoming, although their legs are still wobbly! They are starting to have little barks and growls, sometime even while they sleep. There is nothing sweeter than watching a pile of puppies rest. I had fun taking some photos of them today, enjoy!

The puppies are 3 weeks old today. It is amazing too see how they have grown. In the past few days they have went from walking with wobbly legs to walking all over the whelping box! They even now tend to walk to the corner of the box to potty. We are going through lots of newspaper! If you are planning a visit to see our pups feel free to bring newspapers:) Yesterday we discovered that tiny teeth are popping through. Next weekend they will start on moistened puppy food and start to have playtime outside (weather permitting). It is always so neat to see their reaction the first time they venture outdoors.

The pups are getting so active now. I love getting in the whelping box and playing with them...or rather having them chew on me! They are getting lots of teeth (little sharp ones) and their nails are growing. This means they need to start on solids very soon. Sydney will be so happy! We put a few toys in with them and it is fun to see them tackle the stuffed turkey! Or sometimes they just find someone else's tail to chew on! I am hoping the weather holds so we can start having some playtime outside. Bring on the warm weather and sunshine!

The pups are 4 weeks today. Wow, have they grown! No longer do they have to stay in our whelping box and wait for the Sydney to come feed them. They get to have puppy food and outdoor playtime! It is always so interesting when we first take the pups outside. At first they shiver, like they are cold, but really they are just scared as they have left the whelping which has been their home for the past four weeks. The second time you take them outside they start to explore and after that they are all over the place. They are learning to eat their puppy food, but if mom comes around they run for her to try to get some milk! Since they are getting such sharp teeth and sharp claws, however, they don't get to nurse as often.
I am so thankful for the warm weather this weekend. Spring is coming...yeah! Enjoy the photos. Oh and you will notice, they do have their collars on!!
I am so surprised we were able to get a photo of them all lined up...who knows maybe we will at 5 weeks too!

Today they are just about 4 1/2 weeks old and they are loving being outside! We actually bought a portable fence...my puppy playpen. It makes by life way less stressful and the puppies' much safer. It was a zoo trying to keep track of everyone, especially when taking them out to potty before bed! Most days they have playtime outside and then I move them back to the whelping box but today is so gorgeous they just fell asleep out there. I had to laugh at the one little girl totally sunbathing, trying to bring out her golden locks!

The pups are now 5 1/2 weeks and are growing!! I can't believe how much more active they are. They love being outside! Today they have enjoyed the cooler temperatures. We have been so blessed with beautiful weather with this litter. The pups have not had any #2 accidents in the whelping box since Monday morning. They all are ready to go potty when I take them outside. They are now on complete solid food. Sydney lets them nurse for a brief moments. Enjoy the photos, I apologize for not posting more, my internet has been goofy for the past week!

Where did the past six weeks go? It seems like the pups just arrived. I can't believe how big they have grown. Once again, it just reminds me what a miracle this world is! We can see God's handiwork everywhere!
The pups were successfully vaccinated and dewormed. Everyone will need to get a booster shots at 8, 12, and 16 weeks. They can get their rabies vaccinations at 16 weeks and add some more bling to their collar (...rabies tag). They love being outside and running free. I must admit a few of my landscape plants are ready for them to join your family! We will really miss them and do really hope that each of you stay in touch and send us photos as they grow!
Enjoy the photos! See everyone very soon! If you haven't yet gotten in touch with us regarding pick up time please send us an email. Also, please forgive me if any of the names are wrong or if you have changed your mind and decided on a new name for you golden.
